The product poses a chemical risk because the permitted threshold of 0.1 mg/kg of dimethylfumarate (DMF) is exceeded in the uppers (45 mg/kg) and in the lining (28 mg/kg).
Dimethylfumarate is a substance which is strongly sensitising on contact with the skin, and consumer products containing dimethylfumarate are banned according to Commission Decision 2009/215/EC.
