The product poses a chemical risk because the toy's green polymer material contains 0.024% by mass of di-n-octyl phthalate (DNOP), 23.5% di-"isononyl" phthalate (DINP) and 0.1% di-"isodecyl" phthalate (DIDP), the toy's yellow polymer material contains 0.022% by mass of di-n-octyl phthalate (DNOP), 28.2% di-"isononyl" phthalate (DINP) and 0.084% di-"isononyl" phthalate (DIDP).
According to REACH Regulation, phthalates DEHP, DBP and BBP are prohibited in all toys and childcare articles, while phthalates DINP, DIDP and DNOP are prohibited when the toy or childcare article can be placed in the mouth by children.
Action Taken:
Voluntary withdrawal from the market, stop of sales, recall from consumers and destruction of the products by the distributor.
