Description: Children's night-light fitted with a switch. The lamp plugs directly into a mains socket. The lampshade is decorated with various coloured pictures with the "Spiderman" character in the centre. It is sold in a transparent plastic blister pack with a cardboard rear.

Electric shock
The product poses a risk of electric shock because:
- it is possible to change the bulb whilst connected to the power supply;
- the cover can be easily separated from the base;
- the decoration is such that that a child is liable to think that it is a toy;
- the lamp socket is accessible when the light is connected to the power supply;
- it is possible to easily remove the parts serving as additional or reinforced insulation without seriously damaging them;
- it is possible to gain access to the lampholder while the light is connected to the power supply.
The product does not comply with the Low Voltage Directive (LVD) and the relevant European standard EN 60598.
Action Taken:
Withdrawal from the market ordered by the authorities.
