Electric shock
The product poses a risk of electric shock because:
- the lamp and the cover can be removed whilst the nightlight is inserted into a socket outlet;
- the insulation is inadequate as the creepage distances between live parts and the external enclosure is not sufficient;
- there is no provision for a fuse, required to provide the nightlight with overcurrent protection.
The product does not comply with the Low Voltage Directive (LVD) and the relevant European standard EN 60598.
Action Taken:
Voluntary stop of sales and recall from consumers.
